The Booth Vendor Agreement and Food Vendor Addendum require food vendors to obtain all applicable permits, comply with health and fire laws, follow agency instructions, and dispose of waste properly. This page provides only a brief overview. Your issued permits and directions from Sonoma County or the City of Santa Rosa control.
RSMF staff may confirm that required documents have been provided or are available. Regulatory inspections are conducted by Sonoma County Environmental Health and the Santa Rosa Fire Department, as applicable. RSMF does not conduct regulatory inspections.
Obtain and display all permits required for your food operation.
Follow the requirements of your specific Sonoma County Temporary Food Facility permit and any directions from Sonoma County Environmental Health.
Food-handling staff must have the California Food Handler Cards required by the Food Vendor Addendum.
Cooking vendors must follow local fire codes and the fire-safety terms of the Food Vendor Addendum.
Vendors using propane must obtain a City of Santa Rosa Propane Permit before the event and keep it onsite.
Follow your permit conditions and all instructions from the Santa Rosa Fire Department. Do not begin cooking or use propane or open flame until authorized.
The Food Vendor Addendum requires proper disposal of trash, recycling, compost, grease, and wastewater. Grease and wastewater may not be dumped on the ground, into storm drains, or into public facilities.
Santa Rosa prohibits food service ware containing polystyrene foam or PFAS. Foodware accessories, including straws, cutlery, and to-go condiments, may be provided only upon request.
Follow the festival’s labeled waste stations and sorting directions. Review the City’s guidance for the complete ordinance requirements.
Depending on your operation, required documents include:
City of Santa Rosa Business Tax Certificate (unless exempted under § 6-04.080)
California Seller’s Permit
Certificate of Insurance and Additional Insured documentation required by the Booth Vendor Agreement
If you are uncertain whether a government permit applies to your operation, confirm directly with the issuing agency.
